Applied Investments Program
What is AIP?
The Applied Investments Program is COBE’s most prestigious offering; consisting of the top 12 finance students managing a 1.3 million dollar portfolio. AIP grants students interactions with top investment professionals, access to the best analytical tools, and Wall Street research. Being selected into AIP is one of the highest honors a COBE student can achieve and will place them on a path to the top grad schools and most elite firms worldwide.

History
AIP was founded in 2001 under Professor John Howat. Initially raising seed capital of $ 25,000 from Strong Capital Management. After 12 years with AIP, Dr. Howat was succeeded by Scott Opsal as Director of the Applied Investment Program in 2013. Under Ospal the fund grew to nearly $450,000 through various donations and success from student investments. Today the fund is managed by R.J. New who has headed the fund since 2016, growing AUM to over 1.3 million dollars in his tenure.
